Bluebirds

Bluebird
by Wings:

Late at night when the wind is still
I'll come flying through your door,
And you'll know what love is for.
I'm a bluebird, I'm a bluebird
I'm a bluebird, I'm a bluebird

Been working on a new collection this time incorporating bluebirds, love these little birds. They match the handbag tissue covers from last week.

Key Fob

Glasses Case

Coaster

Happy with what I have accomplished this week, had been ready to make a couple of make up cases to compliment but realised that I did not have long enough zips. With making zipped items in the hoop on the embroidery machine, the zip has to be a lot longer to avoid the needle  hitting the stoppers of the zip pull. Consequently needed 8" and only had 6". Oh well more on that next week, I hope.

My new raised shady rockery bed is comping along well, got the large rocks need some large pebbles now to go round the edges, to ensure no earth cascades onto the lawn. Then the plants. Have plenty of small pebbles but none large enough for my plan. More expense at the garden centre, ll. Thank goodness have a £10 loyalty voucher to spend, this garden malarky can be very hurtful to the debit card.

Going crazy with Patchwork, Father's Day and Fripperies

I love crazy patchwork with embroidery and whilst have done by hand before, my new machine can do it for me. Saw this design and just had to make up in the muted colour fat quarters in my stash.

The patchwork hearts are an old make but still love them, something vintage about the styling

The good thing about crazy patchwork is you can use all those odd shape scraps of fabric that often get thrown out. Another excuse to hang onto everything.

Father's Day

Mug Rugs, and Cards

Never sure how popular this day is but saw the mustache and loved the design. Can be done as Happy Birthday as well on the mug rugs

Fripperies

Alice in Wonderland Watch Fobs

Vintage styling with an image printed onto fabric, pearls, crystals and roses.

Shabby Chic decos all hand sewn with cheesecloth, lace, ceramic button and a pearl

On Holiday, hmm!

Been on a sort of holiday this week but finally pulled my finger out and made some more stock for the Sewing Room collection:

Scissor Keepers

Needle Cases

Pin Cushions

Key Fobs

The key fobs are a new in the hoop design and think they turned out well.

I have a break from events until the 12th September, this gives me plenty of time to add new products but mainly I must tidy my workroom, bought a new chest of drawers and filled the drawers with 'stuff'. None of it sorted and boxes under the desk. Being a cold room ideal to do this when we get the summer heatwave, okay don't laugh but can live in hope.

Crafting and Gardening

This week has been productive with a new bed in the side garden, our beautiful tree of no name comes into blossom, new plants for the Hebe bed and the lawn is looking good too.

DH has worked very hard just have to get to the dump with all the turfs, now that will be fun. A bonus the first half of the week was glorious, sun and warm, perfect gardening weather.

Making this week, now I had a list of things to do, maybe a bit over ambitious and not saying got them all done but did well all things considering. The deluge of the wet stuff on Thursday worked wonders as inside in the dry stitching, nothing could be better.

MINI PHOTO FRAMES

I love these and able to use odd bits of fabric. Done in the hoop but altered the design, as should have been all over free standing lace. Thought this would be too expensive to make to sell, with 2 hours of stitching. Cut out the lace bit and just jumped the machine to do the outlines and the centre place for a picture, with a pocket.

KEY FOBS

Now these should have been clippie holders but as I have sort of stopped doing kid's things, again altered the design to make into fun key fobs.

SAUSAGE DOG BAG

I love the sausage dog in this design, again done in the hoop and he ends up following his own tail, lol

Teriann from Pixies Rules added my rose quilt bag to her website, one thing rang a bell is she called me a stitch artist. Never thought of myself that way but thinking about it sums up what I do quite aptly. Therefore I now have a new title, thanks to a US friend and loving it.

Sewing Room and more from the Rose, Linen and Lace Collection

Bought a beautiful length of fabric depicting vintage style sewing labels. Had a ponder and made into Lavender Pin Cushions/ Sachets, so pretty

the smaller labels could not be wasted and what better way to use up than turn into key rings.

These have been added to my 'Sewing Room' collection.

Back to Roses, linen and lace and this time some lavender filled dress forms, with pretty lace skirts, velvet ribbon and roses. They can be added to a door handle to scent a room and look pretty at the same time.

Final make of the week for my shop a couple of pretty stationery wallets with matching toppers printed onto fabric for the front. Contains 8 notelets and envelopes.

Another make for myself, this time an overtop with dipped hemline, large roomy pockets gathered with ties and my first t shirt with batwing sleeves. The cotton I had in my dressmaking stash for donkey's.

Have gone mad and ordered some more fabric a pretty rose print jersey for another t shirt and a pale pink linen for another over top the same as the lilac print above. Hope to get these done when they arrive but a busy week as Lee is off to the hospital again on Friday for more tests. Leaving big Sis in charge of the mutlet, that should be fun.......

Another Handmade Monday

MIL is now back in the nursing home as they can only give her palliative care, so sad and she is so weak so have been advised to expect the worst and only a matter of time. Lee is visiting with her every day and relatives have been to say goodbye. As you can imagine not a lot of work done last week as whilst I cannot do much I am supporting Lee through this as best I can.

I have added another edition to my Steampunk Collection this time a clockwork fairy handbag in a  beautiful black and pink lace print fabric:

Still plugging away at the Jubilee collection and following on from the telephone key fobs now
Union Jack ones

& Crowns

finally back to the frame bags this time in a vintage style printed linen with embroidered tag

That is all folks for this week anyway, so sort of productive and must admit after checking back on this blog post did far more than I expected to.
