Love it when a plan comes together

Have been working hard this week and apart from a break on Wednesday when I met up with a friend for coffee and chat, been ensconced in my sewing room.

Working on some old and some new projects starting with the last knitted bodice dress, pretty in pink and in this case a magenta top.

Needle minders

Been thinking of these for a while made out of wood blanks and some pretty prints added to the fronts. A floral button added to the bottom magnet makes it easy to remove from the top part, holding your needle. Then came the decision, how to display. A hoop seemed the obvious item but had to add 'Needle Minder' in cross stitch to the centre then of course some broderie anglais lace.

Order for lavender sachets, all packaged and waiting for courier collection on Monday

Sold another lavender lady to the same lovely customer who bought the last 3

Some more fun paperclips

Finally the Strawberry Lavender Sachets, these have been a bit stop and start as ran out of green embroidery thread so could not finish. Mainly because gave a load of thread to my sister when I had a de-clutter.

Until next week, have fun and try to dodge the rain

Sewing Room and more from the Rose, Linen and Lace Collection

Bought a beautiful length of fabric depicting vintage style sewing labels. Had a ponder and made into Lavender Pin Cushions/ Sachets, so pretty

the smaller labels could not be wasted and what better way to use up than turn into key rings.

These have been added to my 'Sewing Room' collection.

Back to Roses, linen and lace and this time some lavender filled dress forms, with pretty lace skirts, velvet ribbon and roses. They can be added to a door handle to scent a room and look pretty at the same time.

Final make of the week for my shop a couple of pretty stationery wallets with matching toppers printed onto fabric for the front. Contains 8 notelets and envelopes.

Another make for myself, this time an overtop with dipped hemline, large roomy pockets gathered with ties and my first t shirt with batwing sleeves. The cotton I had in my dressmaking stash for donkey's.

Have gone mad and ordered some more fabric a pretty rose print jersey for another t shirt and a pale pink linen for another over top the same as the lilac print above. Hope to get these done when they arrive but a busy week as Lee is off to the hospital again on Friday for more tests. Leaving big Sis in charge of the mutlet, that should be fun.......

Afternoon Tea Collection

I love afternoon tea, a 3 tiered plate filled with delicious sandwiches, yummy cakes and delicate scones with jam and clotted cream served the Cornish Way. My thoughts turn to gifts to compliment a traditional English afternoon tea, the first creation being:

Lavender Tea Bag Sachets

What could be more summery than lavender, tea and roses. These delicate little sachets are made out of the most perfect prints of happy pansies and roses, filled with lavender attached with ribbon to an embroidered tea cup tag.

More will be added to this collection over the next few weeks, plus beginning to write a story introducing a new collection incorporating my love of the Victorian Era, when times where quieter, no television to distract, ladies sitting a whiling away the hours with beautiful embroideries. More will be revealed as this idea progresses and hope you will join me on this new journey.

Have a wonderful week enjoying the summer weather we currently have.
