Baby Knits and Handmade Monday

Another week and only 65 days until Christmas. This past month has flown by and the plan was to start sorting stock for the fair plus props in November, better get a wriggle on and stop making!

This week have been knitting, always love to knit in the winter something comforting about the sound of needles and the gentle crackle of a fire. Matinee jacket one of my own patterns and had to embellish with lace trim and butterflies.

Pixie Hat, have done a couple of these again with a faux silk ribbon, lace and velvet ribbon.

Two tone ribbed baby shoes, just realised that these are in Wimbledon colours, lol.

On a morning out with DH went to a local garden centre and Christmas has arrived. Going to another centre next week and know this one will be special. Love to see the decorations and could spend and arm and a leg. Think when I am older will have the house decked floor to ceiling every year, lol.

A week in my crafting shoes

Thought would do something different this week and take you through a journey of my crafting week, day by day.

Monday - Found some head bands and pony tail bands, not sure when I got them but thought may as well use up for the fairs this year.

8 X knot bow hair bands

12 X knot bow pony tail bands

Tuesday - Cleaning upstairs. It is official I hate housework with a passion. Knitting.

Tuesday/Wednesday - New project started and knitted 1 pair this afternoon, a cute pair of bootees/sneakers

Wednesday - A trip to M & S food, spent more than I should but so many goodies, afternoon more knitting.

Thursday - Matinee jacket. Bought the yarn for this but somehow ran out, panic set in but the supplier had 3 balls left of the correct dye lot. Got another ball delivered Saturday and after knitting like mad all done. The dark teal ribbon arrived today and looks good, had to order by eye as online but happy with how it turned out.

Friday - Bandanna for Shiloh, he was not a professional model and acted like a Diva spending most of the time sticking his tongue out.

Posted to Facebook and got an order for 2 within 5 minutes, now that is what I call productive advertising.

Saturday - Order for the 2 bandannas done, all packaged up for posting later today.

Blog updated all ready for Sunday and now the start of a new week.

An odd week seemed to be rushing here there and everywhere and not getting much done so makes for this week:

Been thinking of this style handbag for some time, had just enough of the stripe fabric left over from another project, different but happy with the end result.
The handles go throguh large eyelets.

Yet another pair of picot edged baby shoes, this time in a random wool of pink, cream and taupe.

This yarn just spoke to me, normally a pastel girl but thought these would be a funky addition to the modern babies wardrobe and appreciate that not everyone likes pastels. Found the heart buttons and the orange lace in my extensive stash of goodies, a wonder what you can find when you look, lol



A Sunday make, velvet and organza flower, velvet leaves, a vintage style button for the centre with ribbon and beading detail. Mounted onto a brooch bar.

We visited our new puppy this week, he is so sweet and cuddly, know most of you have seen the pics but just had to add this one, think he could be sleeping on the job initially but will soon get him trained to be useful (NOT!!!) Fell asleep on Lee's lap must have been happy. Have started a countdown app at the top of this blog to when we collect him and he has been adopted as the Crafts Forum puppy so to elevate him to this position he may even get his own blog.

Show and Tell Monday

Half way through March and hoping the snow is a distant memory. Has been beautiful in the southern part of England this week, the sun shone but with a biting wind at least no rain!

Baby Shoes

Loved knitting these delicate little picot edged shoes, with an organza ribbon and rose to decorate, come complete with a white organza bag.

A gift for my Sister

I had been racking my brains for a gift for my Sister's Birthday in April, love doing themed gifts so thought about a breakfast set, bread roll holder, napkins, egg cosies and some beautiful chicken eggs cups made by Quail

Another display stand

Went to our local Homebase this week (a diy store) and found these cupcake stands, could not resist and the price was brilliant £5.99 ($9), thinking another trip next week for another one.

A Remnant Tote

Made two of these handy totes, with a firm card base and inner pockets, lined with dark brown fabric. Fun tassel embellishment with a gold and pearl heart to fasten. The main fabric has a hint of gold to make the bad glisten in the light.
