Show and Tell Monday

The past few days have been beautiful, warm yet with a breeze to make it more comfortable. Thought I would take you for a walk around our garden, perhaps you would like to partake in tea and cakes under the roses on the terrace.

The roses are coming thick and fast and my linen cupboard is now full of rose petals drying, which I am going to try to turn into pot pourri. The smell is beautiful every time I open the door, will keep you informed as to whether it works or not. Next will be the lavender, never done this before but it seems such a shame to waste these fragrant blooms, when they can be turned into something just as delightful.

With all the lovely weather managed to get one project done, a set of 8 mini cards depicting 'Ladies in Lace' with a lace printed background, embellished with a paper rose. Planning to use the same pictures, this time printed onto fabric, to produce a wall hanging/quilt in the theme of a noticeboard.

I was set a task by Tracey of Sunrise Cards, she wanted a case to hold both her mobile and glasses, to hook onto a belt loop or actual belt. Posted off on Friday and I know she was happy with the finished item. Love it when an order has been made, delivered and the recipient is happy.

Show and Tell Monday

Have added a new section to my website 'All Things Pink' and here is one of the offerings a delightfully pink tote bag featuring Fifi and her Dog, out for a stroll under the Eiffel Tower.

'All Things Pink' is a tribute to the inspiration given to me by the Pink Ladies from across the 'pond', for their support and friendship, since joining Make Mine Pink.

An image of a fan taken from Joanna Sheen 'Elegant Fans' CD, printed onto fabric, appliqued onto fabric decorated with a tassel and ribbon roses. Made up into a cushion, ideal to decorate a bed or favourite chair.

Had a chilled out bank holiday weekend, including today (Monday) back to the grind stone tomorrow.

A PInk show and Tell Monday

Another week has started and the weather has been dreadful, nothing but rain with a sprinkling of sun thrown in just to get the grass to grow but too wet to mow. The roses are almost out which brings my post about the Pink Friday 'Romantic Roses' at Make Mine Pink. The offerings as usual were beautiful from a very talented group of Ladies.

My show and tell is a bit meager in comparison but hopefully fun. Got a new CD rom of designs this week Art Deco by Di Kaye, the designs are inspirational so made a card and mini quilt in Rose design then another card in Fifi, with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop. Planning to do a lot more of these and just a teaser as to what the last picture will develop into, you will have to check out next week.

Don't forget to check out the other blogs listed for some wonderful show and tell, tales and offerings.

What a week, MIL had to have another warfarin blood test and the levels have gone up, emergency prescription for a different dose had to be collected Saturday, another blood test for her on Wednesday.
Back to work issues got the wedding invitation samples off to the happy couple for approval and made a phone holder for an online friend, Diane, she wanted it to compliment her Betty Boop phone charm won on ebay. Hope I have got it right.

Made the Ladybug bib and bootee set and am happy with the finished article.

Show and Tell Monday - A moment's Thought

I received a newsletter today from Want to be Happy and the content made me think and realise that all too often when things go wrong there may be a reason and maybe it was for the best. Having been let down last week this is particularly poignant and now I don't feel so bad. I would like to share this with my Pink Lady Friends and all my other blog friends.

Two travelling angels

Two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, 'Things aren't always what they seem.'

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.

'Things aren't always what they seem,' the older angel replied.

'When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it.' 'Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem.'

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You just might not know it until sometime later ...
