Handmade Monday #133

An odd week weather wise warm on some days then so humid with thunder storm and needed the lights back on! Typical British summer that we have grown to expect. On the plus side the garden shrubs are growing at a rate of knots and looking so good.

Handmade Monday #132

A three week break and have been sorting my craft supplies, done about 15% and still a long way to go. Plus my mojo went AWOL. However, on Monday the 10th, did masses of cutting out as on my sort found some fabric I had forgotten about. Stags, foxes, hedgehogs and fairies. 4 tote bags, 4 clutch frame bags, 2 make up bags, 5 lavender sachets. Not to forget 2 children’s skirts.

On Thursday started sewing and finally by Saturday had a lot to show for a few days enjoyable work.

TOTE BAGS

CLUTCH FRAME BAGS

MAKE UP BAGS

LAVENDER SACHETS

SKIRTS FOR 2/3 YEAR OLD

Met up with a dear friend for coffee Tuesday 11th and talking to her my thinking changed. She is at a crossroads in that her website has been closed and she now can make decisions as to what is next. I suggested to take her time and enjoy the freedom making decisions when she is ready. I decided to follow my own advice and do things that bring me joy, are not a trial. Creating makes me happy but have always set myself deadlines which make me stressed. It is okay to step away and enjoy life as it is now, in this moment. DH has long been at me to do what I want to do, not what I feel I should do. I digress slightly in that having this new outlook I have achieved more than I have for a long time. Next week may take a break either way I will go with the flow.

Made the decision to give up on events apart from the 1 local one I have been doing for years. Then saw a post on Hampshire Crafters on FB that a lady is looking at renting a pop up unit in a local Farm Shop only about 3 miles away. Have requested more details and will see costs etc and if I am accepted. Update application form sent off, not sure I will get in as noticed contemporary and not really contemporary, will wait and see.

Well that is it for an inspirational and productive week, let’s hope many more to come.

Handmade Monday #128

Another week and just seen a Grinch post only 31 weeks until Christmas, just saying lol.

What a beautiful week with the weather, have done a lot of gardening. My DH keeps coming up with projects that inevitably involve my input for the final touches.

Have managed to get some work done, my plan atm is to look at the fabrics I have and make something out of the whole length. Bought this linen effect bunny fabric a while back, cannot even remember what I was going to do with it. Have made 3 tote bags, so handy for the summer all lined.

With some fussy cuts two pretty little frame bags.

I am joining up with the linky party on Sum of Their Stories

Until next week, have a good Bank Holiday

Handmade Monday #127

What a beautiful start to the week weather wise. did so much in the garden, spent money at the garden nursery. wisteria is now out and pretty shades of lilac and white.

Not doing as much making atm, mainly due to the fact that when I did a stock take and loaded all my products onto the Folksy shop. had a shock as to how much I had in stock. Wanted to use up some fabric I have had for a while and made 3 herb oven mitts and 1 tea cup one.

Handmade Monday #126

Another week has gone and ever nearer Christmas, lol. Did do some sewing and pack the car for an event, more about that lower down.

The first creations were some Bee skirts, made from strips of fabric. with a happy bee applique design to the centre left.

Have a stash of vintage linens and doilies, been meaning to use for a while. Bought them at a vintage fair then put in a box and promptly forgot about the. Still have plenty plus vintage linens that I plan to use up mainly in a boho chic clothing range.

A doily pansy top/waistcoat was born. The blossom fabric gave a good base using my own drafted pattern. The pansies were a trim round some of the doilies and felt they looked better as centre pieces. Took an age to remove them all from the centre piece but got there in the end.

Had an event yesterday, only sold 1 card in the morning. Exhausting and soul destroying. Have cancelled the next 2 bookings and would rather stay home and promote. On a plus note heard from the good local one and booked in for November.

Today helping DH dig a path out round a bed, well I will be standing on the hose and supervising.

World Stationery Day on Folksy 1st May

The daily themes from Folksy are through and the 1st of May World Stationery Day had to add to my list of 'To Do's. I love stationery so much I took a course to learn how to book bind, now can make my own and to sell rather than buy. Do get distracted by a pretty notebook cover at garden centres though but if DH is with me he reins me in!

Notebooks, post it note covers, mini notebooks, pen sets, paper weights and pencil cases. all on my Folksy Store.

Handmade Monday #121

1st April and no jokes, think being a Monday a lot of people forgot about it. Popped out to drop of a parcel from a sale on Etsy, via the farm shop for some odds and ends. Coffee and then settled down to make 3 tote bags. Found this curtain fabric in my stash, not sure how long I have had it or what I bought it for. Now some handy tote bags in a rose or polka dot print. Fully lined with pink poly cotton.

Bags are so handy now and fabric so much better than plastic. On my Folksy shop priced at £7.50

Tuesday makes. Now I love buttons and vintage style. Again have had these buttons for some time and had to make into a pretty card.

On my Folksy shop priced at £2.00

Wednesday Make. Pink Unicorn Girl's Skirt

Who does not love unicorn's?

On Folksy here

Keeping up the daily makes today (Thursday) an Alice tea bag sachet card, a different way to say thank you. Folksy shop

A quiet Friday apart from dog food delivery, almost need a fork lift truck for a month's supply, lol. Carrying on the theme of tea this time a cute tea bag gift holder, holds 2 tea bags.

Also cut a mount for a picture as a gift for DH and a bookmark cannot show before his Birthday, just in case he has a sneeky peek. Clue Game of Thrones.

As you may have gathered form my daily posts, am trying to make something however small every day. The secret is in the planning or in my jumble of a brain. So far working not sure will keep up every day but makes me feel good to see progress.

I have also mentioned about closing my website and only using Folksy with the occasional posting to Etsy. I am loving the freedom found uploading stuff to the website so time consuming. Now can create, photograph, price and Folksy. So easy have more time to craft!!!!

As been busy this week and completed my tasks for each day. Giving myself Sunday afternoon off to watch Victoria on download.

See you next week
