Supporting each other

In the current climate when selfishness seems the norm I think the crafting community are best placed to go against the grain and support each other. Helping with ideas, websites, business. I know you will always get those that think only of themselves and their own promotion but mostly crafters are a happy supportive bunch of people, understanding that at times things are tough for us all and without joining as a co-operative community we could all fail.

You may wonder what has prompted this soap box session, well in the last week I have come across both types, those that will put themselves out for others and those that it is all about 'ME'. I know this happens in all walks of life but fellow crafters spare a thought for your comrades and let's all support each other without a thought of ourselves.

Okay onto the makes or lack of them! a bad week and my mojo was well and truly on holiday. Found some fabric for the school bags, not much but made 3 and a couple of totes from the offcuts.

That is all for this week folks, hope my mojo returns from holiday duly refreshed next week and actually gets on with some work.

Don't forget to help Jill from Christmas Pie Crafts out by being featured as a guest in her Friday blog, it benefits your business and helps us all get to know you better.

  1. I'm sorry that you're not your usual inspired and positive self this week, we all get a little deflated once in a while and i'm sure that a holiday is just the thing to revive your spirits!

Your bags look fantastic, i particularly like he second one and that fabric is just perfect for the design and purpose.

I agree that the crafting community is generally a supportive one - sometimes people's insecurities or ignorance can result in selfishness though... as you say, i guess that's the same in all walks of life! x

  2. Sounds like we've both had some difficulties this week, truth be told I started to doubt myself because of the reasons you have stated in your post. I have found many supportive people online and you are one of them. I hope you enjoy your holiday and you see and do plenty of things to inspire you xx

  6. Know the mojo issue! It took a good 6 months for me and the best part, if I had cracked open old mags, books and surfed the net I may have been saved. However I know recovery is different for everyone.

On an up mote the bags are lovely. The material is great. Can I ask where you got it?

  9. I'm with you- it doesn't take an awful lot of effort to be supportive to someone else, and can mean the world to them- I know how much I appreciate kind gestures from others that I've received. I don't have much time for those who are completely self-centred.

  15. I do like those bags, but sometimes I guess everyone has a case of the "blahs" which is probably the same as losing your mojo. Luckily it always comes back. :) I agree about supporting each other, AND the two types of people. I think it's true in every endeavor. Same in dog showing. People are people, I guess, no matter what they do.

  17. Caroline it's sad to hear you sound not your usual self! Hope your mojo returns soon! Have to say I agree. I find people very selfish these days!
Love the fabric on the school bags. I'm sure Caoimhe would love a colourful bag like that. Pity mummy picked such a strictschool for her rally and she has to have a school bookbag.....

  19. Mojo's often need a kick in the right direction. I find a cup of coffee and a cake often helps. :0) Live the bag - very bright cheerful colours. Hope you have a good week.

  20. Hope you will back in your good mood soon. Hopefully new creations will help.
I, myself, have to admit I've never come across any negative comments on my blog neither I've left any for anybody. Maybe I've been lucky with my visitors, dunno. But there is definitely lots of envy and egoism out there.
I think there is no other way as to ignore people who always think of themselves.
