Almost Spring and a poem from my favourite poet:
Lines Written in Early Spring | | William Wordsworth (1798) | | I heard a thousand blended notes, While in a grove I sate reclined, In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts Bring sad thoughts to the mind. To her fair works did Nature link The human soul that through me ran; And much it grieved my heart to think What man has made of man. Through primrose tufts, in that green bower, The periwinkle trailed its wreaths; And ’tis my faith that every flower Enjoys the air it breathes. The birds around me hopped and played, Their thoughts I cannot measure:-- But the least motion which they made It seemed a thrill of pleasure. The budding twigs spread out their fan, To catch the breezy air; And I must think, do all I can, That there was pleasure there. If this belief from heaven be sent, If such be Nature’s holy plan, Have I not reason to lament What man has made of man?

I always feel that Wordsworth can sum up the countryside and all within it exceedingly well.

Now onto the makes for the last week, not as much as had hoped:
Easter TimeA set of 6 Easter cards in Yellow, also available in Pink, Blue, Green and Purple, depicting a fun rabbit always getting into trouble.
Colour Block Unlined Tidy BagsNot to waste any fabric two more small tidy bags from the off cuts of the larger gym bags.
Finally made it and finished my vest/waistcoat, just have to shop for a replacement button now.
A general finishing of projects this week, to start afresh next weekend. Why is it we always end up with projects partly finished, love the feeling when they are completed though. Tidying of my workspace to plan for the next projects to stitch.
Check out the other MMP blogs from the Pink Ladies.

Love Wordsworth, thanks. You inspire me to get all my almost finished items off the work table and start fresh, thank you (I think). Your products are lovely, the cards are really nice for the holiday.

Well, it is snowing... again. It has been a strangely white winter in the American South, so I am not feeling the whole Easter/Spring mood yet. But the cards are too cute and I loved the poem! Hugs, Tedi

Hi Caroline
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your post. Yes, I am very local to you - only appx 3 miles form Bourne Mill. My cards are on the left as you go in - a wall rack. Plus I have a room on the lower ground floor (a few steps down from Reception). I have the left-hand space - have sublet the first part at the foot of the steps to a fellow Bourne Mill-er.
You never know we may come across each other there one day - or I am sure at a fair or local event.
Have a good day - weather looks gorgeous
Jill
