Show and Tell Monday

March

"The March wind roars
Like a lion in the sky,
And makes us shiver
As he passes by.

When winds are soft,
And the days are warm and clear,
Just like a gentle lamb,
Then spring is here."
- Author Unknown

Half way through March and hoping the snow is a distant memory. Has been beautiful in the southern part of England this week, the sun shone but with a biting wind at least no rain!

Baby Shoes

Loved knitting these delicate little picot edged shoes, with an organza ribbon and rose to decorate, come complete with a white organza bag.

A gift for my Sister

I had been racking my brains for a gift for my Sister's Birthday in April, love doing themed gifts so thought about a breakfast set, bread roll holder, napkins, egg cosies and some beautiful chicken eggs cups made by Quail

Another display stand

Went to our local Homebase this week (a diy store) and found these cupcake stands, could not resist and the price was brilliant £5.99 ($9), thinking another trip next week for another one.

A Remnant Tote

Made two of these handy totes, with a firm card base and inner pockets, lined with dark brown fabric. Fun tassel embellishment with a gold and pearl heart to fasten. The main fabric has a hint of gold to make the bad glisten in the light.

Have just heard about a scam read Laura's blog for more details, why do some people have to be so mean, I supposed we should feel sorry for them that they have to stoop so low to have a good weekend but they may get their come uppance as God works in mysterious ways.

Show and Tell Monday

Almost Spring and a poem from my favourite poet:

Lines Written in Early Spring

William Wordsworth (1798)

I heard a thousand blended notes,
While in a grove I sate reclined,
In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts
Bring sad thoughts to the mind.

To her fair works did Nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What man has made of man.

Through primrose tufts, in that green bower,
The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;
And ’tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.

The birds around me hopped and played,
Their thoughts I cannot measure:--
But the least motion which they made
It seemed a thrill of pleasure.

The budding twigs spread out their fan,
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I can,
That there was pleasure there.

If this belief from heaven be sent,
If such be Nature’s holy plan,
Have I not reason to lament
What man has made of man?

I always feel that Wordsworth can sum up the countryside and all within it exceedingly well.

Now onto the makes for the last week, not as much as had hoped:

Easter Time

A set of 6 Easter cards in Yellow, also available in Pink, Blue, Green and Purple, depicting a fun rabbit always getting into trouble.

Colour Block Unlined Tidy Bags

Not to waste any fabric two more small tidy bags from the off cuts of the larger gym bags.

Finally made it and finished my vest/waistcoat, just have to shop for a replacement button now.

A general finishing of projects this week, to start afresh next weekend. Why is it we always end up with projects partly finished, love the feeling when they are completed though. Tidying of my workspace to plan for the next projects to stitch.
