UK Handmade Supporting and promoting the best UK artists, designers and makers

Message from Craft Nations Unite:

We've just launched Craft Nations Unite, but we need your help! It's the largest google map of artisans and designers of it's kind.

http://bit.ly/bV2Dru

Please add your photos, links, embed video, show us where you live and work, make this the largest visual reference of handmade and homemade designers on the planet!

Once you have done this please blog it, tweet it and share the link in forums.

You'll help us reach one stage further by helping create wealth in local communities for a more durable future, sooner.

Thank you!

Louise

Talk about organised this week, I have made and loaded onto my blog as a gift is added to my website, in preparation for Show and Tell Monday.

I love the scent of Lavender, old fashioned but with a lot of good healing properties not to mention the delicate scent added to clothes or linen.

Music and Hearts Sachet

A rose scented gift made from music and hearts collage fabric with Mum embroidered on the front panel.

Show and Tell Monday

Easter Time

A time for all the Bunnies to appear, Eggs to be hidden squeals of delight from both children and adults alike. To look for the first showing of the daffodils and the first sign of Spring, this poem sums up Spring for me and gentle school days of learning classics in the warm dyas under an old oak tree:

"Daffodils" (1804)

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

By William Wordsworth (1770-1850).

Then a glimpse that spring has sprung and the knowledge that long summer days are almost here. After the winter we have all had I think I am looking forward to Spring and Summer more this year than before.

The Easter bunnies with the help of the fairies have had their thinking caps on and have come up with a fun Easter breakfast set of table mat, egg cosy and napkin, to brighten the day. Only 4 available in this fun Easter Egg design.

Off for some more designing and planning for a gift and card selection for Mothering Sunday and more for Easter.

DeliPots

I entered a competition the other week on DeliPots blog to find the most expensive solid body butter bar and I won, admittedly the only entry. Received in the post a beautiful Body Butter Bar with the scents of orange and lime, heavenly.

Check out Judes blog and website for some more delightful scented gifts.

Irish Linen Lavender Hearts just added to my website, to scent your wardrobes or drawers.

Gym and tidy bags, the larger one is the smaller of my standard order for a local girl's school and the small bag is made from the waste fabric as don't want to waste a scrap.

and finally from the UK

a craft forum where you can come and chat with other crafters that is small and friendly. Also, there is a business forum section where you can network and get ideas from other business people to promote and market your business.
